Notes |
- He was illegitimate and was raised by his grandparents as a son. From the notes of Heather Findlay, granddaughter of Agnes Beattie Sturrock - "Agnes, (Gran), his "sister, but really his aunt, told the story of how he (Colin), was not allowed into the reading of the will after her father's (Alexander Sturrock) death as he was not a son, and that was the first of him knowing he was the illegitimate son of Janet and a grandchild rather than a son. She said that he walked out of the house and never returned, and she thought he had landed up in Canada."
