KERRVILLE: Grover Cleveland Sturrock, 94, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2005, in Kerrville. He was born April 25, 1911, to Scenia Warrington Sturrock and Hattie (Hayes) Sturrock.
Grover married Mary Jo Browder on August 30, 1942, in Houston, TX. She preceded him in death in April of 2000. Together, they had five children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Grover was an Army tech sergeant, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He and Mary Jo made their retirement home in Tow, TX, where Grover served as a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Tow. The last nine years of his life were spent in the nursing home in the South Texas Veteran's Health Care System of Kerrville.
Survivors include children: Don Sturrock of Sarasota, FL, Katrina Warren of Corpus Christi, TX, Doug Sturrock of League City, TX, Marylyn Welch of Orange, TX, and Elisa Magee of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Michael Warren, David Warren, Bryce Sturrock, Lauren Sturrock, Crystal Phillips, Paisley Ware, Rachel Magee and Chris Magee; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Warren, Raegan Warren, Madeline Phillips and Jansen Ware.
Services will be on Monday, November 28, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Old Waverly Presbyterian Church in Coldspring, TX. Interment will follow at Old Waverly Cemetery.
