Residence-Occupation: 1947  Richard and Mary Cimino, 2565 20th Street, Sacramento.  Occupation, casing worker, Andrew DeWied Casing Company.
Residence:  1961-1979 4434 61st Street, Sacramento, California;  This home was the site of many Cimino family gatherings that I remember from my youth.
My favorite memory was being served a Pepsi on ice, a rare treat. Grandpa Dick and Grandma Macy were always very generous with their time, attention and treats.  Their Christmas tree was made of aluminum and it was displayed with a color wheel lamp that would rotate to the different hues.  The house was filled with aunts and uncles and cousins at holidays.  My cousins and I would play cards in the winter and play hide and seek or tag in the yard in warmer weather.  Grandpa would always give all the grandchildren chocolate covered cherries at Christmas.
Grandpa would pay me to do chores like painting and yard work.  The money was always appreciated and it was always fun spending time with Grandpa.  It seems that several times my assignment consisted of digging stumps out of the back yard or mowing the grass.  Grandpa always kept his yard neatly groomed. Grandma Macy would serve us lunch and wait on us both while teasing Grandpa with her droll wit. Sometimes he would take me out for a hamburger or take me to the bowling alley.  Nick Cimino, Reno, Nevada 7 Jul 1996.
As I grew older I saw less of Grandpa Dick in my college years but after I met Robin and decided to get married Grandpa Dick and Macy encouraged us to get married in their church.  Robin and I had other ideas.  We wanted to be married in the pretty Methodist chapel downtown but we said we would consider using Grandpa's pastor if he was willing to marry us downtown.  Robin's family was recommending a fellow that had just married a family friend.  Surprise!  It turned out to be the same guy!  We attended church with Grandpa Dick and Macy and moved fairly near them on the west side of Stockton Boulevard. We spent many hours at their house playing cards.
Our favorite card playing memory is the time that Grandpa Dick dropped the Queen of Spades on Grandma and she called him a "big A-hole."  Those were awfully strong words for Macy and we have laughed about it for years.
      Nick Cimino, 29 Jan 1997.
Church:  Grandpa Dick and Macy attended the Wesley United Methodist Church. His favorite charity was the Ecumenical Food Closet.  He had a standing offer to the congregation to match any of their donations to the Food Closet.  He had a jar that was used to collect the donations. The jar was known to everyone in the church as "Dick's Jar".
