Notes - Pat Raney wrote: "Clinton left LA as a young man and went to Hardin County, TX. There he married Araminta Collier, Mar 17, 1887 . They had several children and only a few lived to adulthood. I think seven in total and 3 lived. The granddaughters told me Clinton died in an accident about 1903. He was part of a surveying team working near a railroad. Train cars were loaded with timbers and the straps on one broke. Clinton was fatally injured. I did try to find him in the TX Death Records, but there was not a listing. He may have died before 1903 when records were not kept. The ladies were unclear where exactly the accident occurred."
